Be Warned.

Oya my people,(not too formal a greeting but I figured its Friday!)

I had an early start to my day this Friday morning. My itinerary was packed from between 0800hrs till midday!!

See how tired I was..,

In an attempt to not bore you with my boring itinerary, lets talk relationships.

Anyone who knows me(at a VERY personal level), knows im not the guru in this sector(who is)- I try though.

I love to meet new people (not always though), create fresh memories, share old experiences..,who doesn’t?

However, due to the vagaries that are human nature, we have to be extra careful with the relationships we forge, especially at work.

That nice lady at the reception who is forever complimenting everything from your shoes, lunch box to the way you pick your nose does not necessarily have your best interests at heart. Be Warned.

That co-worker with opinions from Nairobi to Timbuktu on everything and everyone should not be given an ear. ‘He who speaks of others with you will speak of you with others’. Be Warned.

That older, very motherly/ fatherly, colleague with advice on all the African rites of passage from birth-circumcision-courtship-marriage and even death..listen to them BUT share NOT a word on the shreds of your dirty linen. Don’t let people in too fast. Be Warned.

In short, YOU SHOULD KNOW PEOPLE- literary!!!:D

My 2 cents;

i)                    Be cordial and ‘lenient’ in your relationships at work

ii)                  Make friends..yes, please do, by all means. However, be still in your conversation, keep your language(body and spoken, alike) prim and proper and most importantly, concentrate on your work.

LOL..they are actually TWO..my two cents, that is!!
