GUEST POST AND MY WISH LIST.

WISHLIST;
See me posting my wishlist before the guest post..what manners.
Anyhow, I woke up today listening to Andrea Bocelli's 'Sogno' album. If you don't already know, I love this man as if we were related..his music..ah..takes my breath away and it just never grows old!! I've each and every album, well apart from 'Passione' and nothing would please more than to see him live in performance. I Google-ed his 2014 schedule this morning and methinks its time I made an effort to attend one..probably much later in the year.
If I can't make it, God forbid, I will settle for King Sunny Ade(another favorite of mine)..so much for burning boats..lol.
This got me thinking of the stuff I'd like to have this year(not resolutions). I came up with following..,
- Attend an Andrea Bocelli concert.
-Get traditional african outfits from their countries of origin i.e
The African culture is a colourful culture which I love..here are some traditional African outfits i'd like to collect from the respective countries this year. Help?? Rwandese, Ugandan and Nigerian readers??:-)

                                                              Rwanda Mushanana

                                                           Ugandan Busuuti
..,couldn't find a clearer pic but this will do. Lovely!

                                                              Nigerian Oleku
..,they are so pretty, right??

Get a nice camera so I can document stuff in pictures on the blog(..,everybody loves pictures, no?)

Cancel out one more country on my travel map; two years ago, I got a map where I cross off countries as I visit them. It doesn't have to be miles away..could be a bus ride to neighbouring Uganda/Burundi or a flight to Morocco. You should try it too:-)
Methinks 4wishes are enough and achievable..let's see how I do..wish a girl some luck!!
psst..listen to Andrea's 'Vivere' to inspire your day today;-)
..,and NOW to the guest post..,

New day, new book with empty pages of life to write on.

Chapter 1, page 1......

From today.....

1. I choose to leave behind all the baggage that belongs to yesterday, and not let it control what my life is now.

2. I choose to recognize my self worth even in small ways and not undermine myself in any way.

3. I choose to embrace healthy habits that will ensure a healthy lifestyle: 8 hrs of sleep each day, early morning detox regimens of choice, generous breakfast before starting work, meaningful lunch break away from the computer, maintain a realistic daily task schedule, indulge in other activities that are non-work related whether recreational, spiritual or personal.

4. I choose to pay keen attention to my nutrition and strive to maintain a balanced diet always, because a healthy body and mind is a healthy life: vegetables and fruit in large portions, protein and starch in equal but lesser portions, water in large quantity, and caffeine, alcohol, sugar, fat, processed foods in very limited portions.

5. I also choose to realize that I need not feel guilty or vain for paying due attention to personal appearance and grooming; maintaining an attractive and pleasant appearance enhances one's self confidence and doesn't mean one is self-absorbed.

6. I choose to acknowledge the fact that one can, with much effort, create a balance between career and spiritual activities - and having a successful career doesn't make one materialistic, just as living in self-denial doesn't guarantee one's spirituality.

7. I will continue to realize that real forgiveness isn't a once-for-all-time action but a once-for-each-day exercise.

8. I will continue to embrace change in myself and others more open-mindedly because everything changes with time: situations, people, habits, environment; as I also recognize that some things never change and some people may never grow up, so it's best to leave them to their everlasting childhood.

9. I choose to actively cultivate and accommodate only friendships that are genuine and mutually up-building - and forego pursuing those that are not; as I also use every friendly encounter as an opportunity for the other person to appreciate and enhance something in themselves.

10. I realize the fact that others may hold preconceived ideas about me and it is their responsibility to seek to know different; likewise, for those I may have misjudged prematurely, it will be my responsibility to come to know them for who they really are.

11. I also realize that there are questions that may never be answered, puzzles in life that may never be solved, discoveries that may never bring full closure, losses that may never be recovered, broken friendships that may never be restored, and betrayals that although forgiven may take a lifetime to forget.

12. I choose to recognize that everyone is responsible for their own decisions and even though that decision may hurt you, it is theirs to make; the only control one has in such a case is to make personal decisions that will be favorable for your own life.

13. I will continue to recognize that there are no quick fixes in life, especially when one gets thrown into a quagmire of complexities.

14. I will also strive to protect my privacy as I embrace the fact that certain information - business or personal - is need-to-know, and not everyone who enquires of it actually needs to know.

15. I will continue to avoid or eject myself from scenarios that are physically, psychologically, emotionally and as a result even spiritually draining; it will be in my best interests to simply walk away from any drama.

16. I choose never to give more than I receive in all aspects of my life; nothing and no one is worth creating such an energy deficit in myself for.

17. I also want to recognize that eventually we all get what we really deserve - good or bad; for whatever injustice undergone, it is best to keep focused on self restoration because payback of whatever nature is futile - you can only pay back what you owe, and the only person you owe is yourself. You owe yourself peace of mind and a healthy life.

18. I choose to acknowledge the fact that giving up is so easy and anyone saying different is either in denial or simply yet to face the hard stuff in life. It takes effort and a real brave heart to keep going on and to renew oneself each day.

19. I also choose to remind myself that life is rewarding especially to those who keep seeking good in themselves and in others, and who continue to live by principle and integrity.

20. Finally, I will continue to realize, recognize and acknowledge the fact that even with the best of intentions and plans, life remains very dynamic and somewhat unpredictable; so I will have to frequently remind myself everything I just stated above.

You have a simple to do list which i am sure you will achieve quite easily.

I wish i could help you out with some info on Nigerian outfits but i would suggest you find a good tailor, find the fabric you like and show him photos of the style you want. This is how we do it too. They are all sewn by good tailors.

Have a good start of the week.
